Hi guys (and JD, if you're out there),

I want to use the Whitespace theme with Stroll. There is a stylesheet JD has created so that they are both compatible. After multiple tries (downloading the stylesheet, theme and plugin in different orders) the my wiki is still not formatted correctly (see below). I love both stroll and the theme, and it would be great if I could get this sorted out. Thanks!Screen Shot 2020-08-14 at 12.37.44 AM.png

Aww shucks let me look into it.

To investigate, can you provide the version of TW you are using, browser, and plugins?

Thanks for the like!

(Upon initial investigation it looks like it has something to do with the group of plugins included in Stroll. The compatibility tiddler I initially provided was for the Stories plugin only. I'll do my best to accommodate the others!)

It's 5.1.22. I tried the compatibility tiddler with just the stories plugin, and it actually seems to work when the sidebar is collapsed. Now, knowing this, the problem is not actually that big of a deal... so if you want to fix it, great! If not, not a problem at all. I'm busy right now but later today I will check out the compatibility between all the stroll plugins, your theme, and the compatibility tiddler now knowing it works with a collapsed sidebar. Thanks for all that you do.

JD,

I am running white theme and stories plugin + your compatibility stylesheet. It works well for me. BUT I imported the stories plugin at the same time you published your compatibility stylesheet. A couple of days later there was an update of the stories plugin. To be able to set the width of the stories.
I did not update to that for my use.

I do use that updated stories plugin with mono theme though and that works well.

After the update of the stories plugin, also 2 viewtemplates from Dave is necessary or the tiddlercontrols will hop and dance.

Aww thanks logan! I still want to update it because I think the Stories plugin is really cool! And I didn't realize there was an update after I released my compatibility stylesheet.

Anyway, work has crept into my leisure time, but I will update this thread once I've fixed the issue.

Hi Birthe, thanks for the info! I'll have to check those out too!

Schedule has gotten crazy so I'll post again when the fix is available! Thanks again

Hi JD,
Not stroll this time but the menu bar plugin.
The menubar plugin covers over the hamburger.
I'm not wedded to that plugin, but do like a topbar of some description for mobile layout.  (I have used a few of your awesome themes for this before) :)

So perhaps a better question would be...which of your mobile themes/ topbars plays best with this theme (I'm sure I tried it on mobile with the topbar plugin disabled and there wasn't anything, but that could be user error...)

Hi Ste! Thanks for helping me keep this theme up to date!

Mono styles the topbar for narrow screens, which means, on its own it doesn't need a separate mobile plugin.

However, if you'd like to use the core Menubar plugin, or any other topbar plugin, I can update Mono so that its topbar both in narrow and wide screens can be offset (to accomodate the extra space needed by the additional topbar) up to the distance of user's choice.

Do you think that can be a good compromise? My main desire for my themes is for them to be very accomodating to other plugins as well!

screenshot-stephenteacher.tiddlyspot.com-2020.08.20-12_40_28.pngThis is what I get on mobile with no top menu bar plugin. (should be  screenshot there).  The arrow just pulls up the sidebar as per regular TiddlyWiki and the column button still appears in tiddlers (using the stories plugin) but the general behaviour is true even with stories disabled.

Ste,

I am using whitespace theme and stories plugin. Using whitespace theme you have the option to have sidebar at the left or at the right. I have sidebar on the left. I do not have a mobile but on a small screen I get the page controls in the bottom - but the sidebar arrow does not work, that is true.

Have you tried using the mono theme, I think you might find it a better fit. I am using it with stroll.

Oh, my bad, I went on about Mono theme when we've been discussing Whitespace. Whitespace isn't styling anything on mobile, so maybe you can try http://j.d.simplemobile.tiddlyspot.com/ with it?
