tiddlyclip for chrome

I have added a chrome addon for tiddlyclip - install instruction at http://tiddlyclip.tiddlyspot.com/. I have also put tiddlyclip under the mit license.

Hi BJ,
I think I followed the instructions correctly, but when I click "load unpacked extension" and select the location where I saved the xpi file, I get the following error:

Failed to load extension from: ~\Desktop

Manifest file is missing or unreadable.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

apologies, the instructions should read:

The chrome addon needs to be added locally. Right click the link below to save the addon locally. (unzip it)

https://github.com/buggyj/tiddlyclip/blob/0.0.7-alpha/tiddlyclip.zip

click the menu button then click "more tools" then extensions, then load unpacked extension

Thanks, BJ. I couldn't get the linked file to work (I got a message saying the zip file had no contents), but knowing what I was looking for meant I was able to download "tiddlyclip-master.zip" directly from github, and that worked.
I'm so pleased to be able to use this in Chrome!

that's a bug its not selecting the docked tiddlywiki- try clicking on the address of the docked tiddlywiki (clck 'tiddlycut' then the address of the tiddlywiki)

It looks like there is a problem with finding the configuration tiddler (which is a shadow tiddler).
Try editing the TiddlyClipConfig tiddler - add or remove a blank line at the end of the tiddler to make it a non-shadow tiddler and then reload the tiddlywiki

Is there any plan to port tiddlyfox also to chrome? I would love to use chrome to save my wiki while using tiddlyclip.

unfortunately google chrome does not have a 'save' api for addons, so we cannot port tiddlyfox from firefox to chrome

Hi, I am wondering if anyone is getting the following error with TiddlyClip (both 0.1.1 and 0.1.2) in Chrome? Or am I doing something wrong? The result of the error is that I never get beyond "dock here", i.e. I never get TiddlyClip's menu of how to pin, snip etc. a selection. 

The error:

Error in event handler (...) Cannot read property "replace" of undefined. / More in the picture

Please note I am using TW5 in the Sky, i.e. my file is stored by Dropbox. However it might not be the issue as TiddlyClip works in Firefox with TW5 in the Sky.

(P.S.: I am able to use TiddlyClip with Firefox and I want to thank you plenty, BJ - it is a great tool.)

As for the error I reported yesterday,

1. There are more errors listed by Chrome: its has problem not only with replace property, but also substr and url.

2. I have tried to clip with an empty wiki, to see if dropbox-storing causes the problem or not. It does not. The same error occurs with empty TW as well.

3. When I install TiddlyClip to Chrome, I get the option of "dock here" immediately after right-clicking (and it doesn't work). But the correct way should be, I suppose, to first see TiddlyClip menu after right-clicking and then choosing "dock here" from there as a sub-choice.

BJ, thank you, problem solved.

Before I was installing 0.1.2 or at least I thougt so but I was installing it from a .zip file, not .xpi (I thougt that's a strictly Firefox format, now I know it can be unzipped as any zip archive). So maybe the ZIP zip archive which the readme offered for download was incomplete. Or it was actually old version. I am not sure. But thanks for helping me figure it out.

Although its only a prelease I should have checked the zip content. I hope you enjoy the new version, I will document the new features when I get around to doing the release.
