Ok, bug geeks - can anyone ID this critter? It's be like a size 6/0!

Dobsonfly.  It's a hellagramite all grown up.  It's also a female - the pinchers on the male grow to about 10 times that size...

Awesome find BTW -- I think Rob said he's been bitten by one, I never have (yet).  From what I remember being told, the males look more menacing but actually can't bite very well.....the females are the more painful ones.

Not a bunyon bug? 

Yup big ol dobsonfly, megaloptera. 

If you see fuzzy white patches in rocks or logs near a stream that is the female egg case. Will let you know adults are around and most likely hellgrammites in the nearby water.
