Hi,

I have been developing with MSP430 for many years, but always with IAR and with the FET  ...

I like the small low cost board "MSP430F5529 USB LaunchPad Evaluation Kit"

I purchased one ...

Now, I would like to develop using free or low cost tools if possible ...

It seems I should be able to use Eclipse for C/C++ and the MSP430 gcc toolchain from here:  http://xpg.dk/projects/msp430/msp430-eclipse/

Now, first question is, am I on the right track so far? ... second question is, how to debug this thing?  there is no jtag connector, and the documentation seems to say i can debug over usb .. is this possible with this toolset? ... do i need anything else at all?  please help, i would like to get up and running quickly

ok another question, .. regarding this 5529 launchpad board, ... can i, at the same time, debug in eclipse over usb, with a usb program using the TI stack, while on the pc using a java program to read the usb data .. ?  the question is not about java, suppose the java is working, is it possible to do the two things at the same time?  the documentation seems to say i can debug and use the usb on a pc
