Running latest stable Thruk with Nagios 3.x and livestatus plugin. Able to query livestatus via command-line but Thruk does generates error and fails backend test. I attempted Nagios 3.x and 4.x.

Error from /var/log/thruk.error.log:

[2013/10/15 06:47:25]sam][ERROR][Thruk.Controller.error] Local Nagios: ERROR: failed to connect to /usr/local/nagios/var/mk-livestatus/live :Permission denied (/usr/local/nagios/var/mk-livestatus/live)
[2013/10/15 06:48:54][sam][INFO][Thruk.Controller.remote] started (13172)
[2013/10/15 06:49:33][sam][INFO][Thruk.Controller.remote] started (13261)

Within the Thruk 'Config Tool', I see similar message:
"failed to connect to....Permission denied at lib/Monitoring/Livetatus/Class/Lite.pm" line 245.

What is Thruk doing because simply using the livestatus API? Permissions are already open.

Thank you,
Leon

What are the permissions of '/usr/local/nagios/var/mk-livestatus/live'? It needs to be read/writable by apache user I beleive. Check all permissions of path up to and including live.

Hi Andrew,

I changed the group membership because the permissions were reset one "live" socket was recreated i.e. nagios daemon restarted.

Works now.

Thanks,
Leon
