Ordinarily, we adjust kit prices on January 1st and July 1st to account for price increases from our suppliers. We've received 2013 price lists from our wholesalers, and find that our costs for components will increase from 3.5% to as much as 17%, with a weighted average increase of about 7.5%. On January 27th, our shipping costs will increase by an average of about 9%.

Despite these increased costs, we've decided to maintain current kit prices through May 31st. We haven't determined the new kit prices that will take effect on June 1st, but we expect them to be 7% to 8% higher.

Thanks for the response and it really too bad that you can't ship to Canada.

We don't sell refill sets specifically, because most of the cost of most of our kits is in the consumables. We do sell individual replacements in case someone spills a chemical or whatever.

You really don't want to order individual items other than as replacements. That's why we sell what you need in the form of kits. It's cheaper to buy the kit.

We can't ship the FK01 forensic science kit outside the US because it has too many chemicals that are forbidden in international shipments. The international versions of the CK01A chemistry and BK01 biology kits are the same price as the US versions, but there's a shipping surcharge. To Great Britain, the shipping surcharge for one kit is $64. Additional kits shipped in the same box are typically about half the surcharge for the first kit, so two kits would run around $96 for the shipping surcharge, three kits $128, and so on. To order, simply add a kit or kits to your shopping cart, here:

http://www.thehomescientist.com/kits/BK01/bk01-main.html

http://www.thehomescientist.com/kits/CK01/ck01-main.html

Add one $64 shipping surcharge item per kit. We'll refund the excess to your credit card. Please also note that there are some minor differences (mainly chemical substitutions) in the contents of the US and International versions of the kits. These differences and the terms & conditions for international shipping, are described on the kit pages.

Best regards.

Bob
