Visitor Reception App

Hi all,

We are in the process of choosing a visitor management app where visitors or students can swipe in, or scan in their QR code.

So far I've looked at Go Reception https://www.goreception.co/ and Vistab http://www.vistab.co.nz/office-visitor-management

Do these apps or similar check off students attendance and exits, and send that info to KAMAR in particular.

What would be your recommendations here?

We're using Vistab for staff, students and visitors, seems to work well. Don't know if it talks to Kamar.. We haven't got it set up to do that..

I'd be quite interested in these platforms, I have been meaning to set up something less "manual" in the office for some time now...

Our attendance person in the front office keeps a webpage open on Vistab showing the students in/outs and adds them to Kamar. It came with a Brother label printer to do visitor labels, works well. From my point of view the support is great, very responsive to questions / problems...

We’re just setting up SignIn Register from Nexial Software NZ (http://www.nexialsoftware.co.nz/signin.shtml)

As we don’t run Kamar, so we haven’t looked into integration there, that but you could contact Craig, who is very responsive to any queries and development ideas.

We have just installed VisTab. Easy & simplistic for the end user (students, parents & staff) and is NZ owned so support has been great - answer any queries within 2 minutes. Cloud based, easy to upload new students from the SMS, login & download a vast array of reports & if an emergency or a lockdown there is a function on the tablet itself to easily see who is on site or signed out for the day.

Did do the homework & unfortunately have not found any system that integrates with ours or any other SMS - would be wonderful. Have sent the word to VisTab to work on - issue is all the differing systems out there (we have just moved to eTap)

We are also using www.whosonlocation.com and found it very good. Also a NZ company who are very responsive. The feature that staff like the best is that it queries AD for email/cell numbers and sends the staff member a text and email when their visitor has arrived. Also prints nice custom labels (we find all labels are not very sticky on clothing, especially wool suits, and so offer a StAC branded lanyard with a sleeve on the end to slip the visitor pass into). It prints a bar code for quick sign out by scanning it - really useful for groups.

Talking of groups, you can pre-register large groups and print in one go super easily when the first person arrives. IT remembers frequent visitors and who they;re visiting to speed up the process for the visitor.

It has made our receptionists very happy - we have two terminals in the Secondary and Preparatory receptions. They don't even call staff anymore, relying on the email and text message to summon them for their visitor. WE can brand the screens to promote events / seasonal greetings very easily.

We will add staff to this to swipe out with their RFID enabled ID next year probably. Reporting is what you'd expect

You can also set auto-sign out times at the end of the day so you don;t have "overnighters" ;)

We use our SMS (synergetic) for student sign in/out

PCShool have a visitor program called Gatekeeper. It is integrated into the SMS and we use it for visitors/contractors and also for late students to sign in and students leaving early to sign out.
