I use my phone to play back audio in the car via the headphone jack. I also have a BTheadset that I use for voice commands and phone calls.
Right now, when I get or make a call, it gets routed so that the incoming audio goes out the jack and into the car speakers and my input comes from the phone's built in mic.
What I'm trying to do is find a way that I can switch a call in progress between that arrangement and using my headset for both listening and talking. I understand some phones can do this with a button on the app screen, but on mine (Galaxy S4) that option is disabled.
If my wife and I are just out driving around town and one of our kids calls, it would be nice for both of us to be able to hear and talk, but if I'm going down the road at 70 with the top down and my boss calls, I want to use the headset to make sure we communicate clearly.
I thought I could switch between the two states via Tasker's Bluetooth Voice command, but that doesn't seem to work.
I created a profile that displays a button on screen when I'm in a call and I set it's action to toggle Bluetooth Voice. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do anything. (Except destroy the buttons background color.)
Am I misunderstanding what Bluetooth Voice is supposed to do, or just it just not work on my phone?
Any insight on how to accomplish this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I'm sure joaomgcd can answer better than I, but all I did was add an "AutoVoice Ctrl BT" action to my profile that kicks in whenever I get a call. I also created an on-screen overlay button that toggles the the command so that I can switch back and forth between speakerphone and private.
