Is it possible to auto answer an incoming call after x seconds? It
would be nice to implement an in-car task

No and it rather won't be as this is android limitation.

There is an app that does it! Check http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.everysoft.autoanswer

It seems it's using (the app is open source) some private interface
interface with very interesting features :)

Pent,
aren't you interested..? :-)

I have been using the AutoAnswer app when I am in my car and it works
pretty good. I was thinking of modifying my "when my car is docked"
task to start that application. Wouldn't that work?

I'm still new to Tasker so if I'm over simplifying here, just ignore
me ...

I would like to see autoanswer implemented in tasker, please. I'd
rather keep it clean than installing one more 1-function-only app.
I'd also like to have gtalk status update in tasker instead of using
the locale plugin as I do now.

thanks.

I think you would still need to activate Autoanswer manually, because
you need to toogle a checkbox inside the app.
Implementing it directly in Tasker is the way to go, please,
please... :)

I've just made a quick and dirty (my first java & android app) plugin
for Tasker based on the application you mentioned and Locale "Toast"
samples ;) It (usually) can answer, end and reject calls (depending
what you choose). You can also define delays (0, 1, 2, 5, 10, 15s)
before answering and hanging up a call (tough it sometimes does not
work for longer values).

So, if someone badly needs this feature, you can mail me.

BossMan,

I can tell you that your plugin works!!!

Tasker can:
- Auto-ACCEPT incoming phone call
- And (optionally) Auto-END-CALL after N seconds!

This is brilliant :)

But, Tasker "Say" function does not work during the call :(

I have selected the "Call Stream" (and also other stream), but it does
not sound.

The other end cannot hear the Tasker Say.

Pent, could you please check?

If you can make the Say work on the Call stream ... Wow!

Automatic Answering Machine for Android!

Klaus

Oh this sounds to me like you are soon able to give us the
possibilities to make our own voicemail? Oh that would be awesome!

How do you mean ? Answer call, play message, end call ?

I'm not sure if the other party can hear when you use Say
(Stefan says yes, Klaus says no :)).

Is there really no one here who can say something about it?

even if it is only a "this wont work at this time" ...

I do not think you can what you want is to pipe the output from the
say command back to the caller, which I am pretty sure is just not
supported. You *might* be able to do something by auto answering the
call, switching the call to speaker and then try using a say
command...

You realize this is almost 4 years old right?

Even if he has the file it may not work since Tasker has changed so much recently new ui, different versions of android, new restrictions, etc...

Your best off just using what you have now and building it yourself

I am very much interested in your plugin as all other attempts have failed.  I've read this group and your posts and am impressed.  May I please have a copy of your plugin?  I'm not sure how to get it though.  Do we exchange emai addresses?  Or...what? Mine looks different but it's real:  4c8966eb @ opayq.com.

Please let me know, and thanks so much in advance for your help and reply.

I did this successfully using AutoNotification. But I'm curious regarding it's practical use.
