Hello,

on my Android HU I saw the following behavior and I will need some hints from your side:

-I have 1 profiles which is using logcat to detect a string was present  within 2 seconds in the logs,  then to perform an action.

At some point in time, the profile / Tasker is stop working  even if the strings are present in the logcat and I need to open Tasker app again, click on the profile,  expand the profile and validate. Then is working as it should be.

There is a possibility to debug / activate debugging mode in order to see what is happening?

Many thanks in advance.

Can you please export your profile's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the profile in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance

Hi. Can you clarify what you mean by "detect a string was present  within 2 seconds in the logs"? How would that profile do what you mentioned?

Hi,
I want to use those profiles in order to extend the Idrive joystick / other buttons  on my Android HU which is installed on an E65 car.
Are working fine but at some point something gets stuck and as I have described, I need to open tasker app, expand one profile, validate, then all ok.

B. DESCRIPTION

01_BMW_SVS.prj.xml: It's using logcat with MCU strings:
01_SVS: double press on the steering wheel of the Voice Button, within 2 seconds: open google assistant

02_BMW_Tools.prj.xml: It's using logcat with MCU strings and Touchtask:
00_IDRV_SRestorer: double move to the front of the Idrive controller, within 2 seconds: Open KSW SoundRestorer app
00_IDRV_back: double move to the back of the Idrive controller, within 2 seconds: simulate back action
00_IDRV_left: double move to the left of the Idrive controller, within 2 seconds: go home

03_BMW_Maps.prj.xml
00_zoom_IN/OUT: for the following apps: Waze, Sygic, Maps, using only the Idrive joystick (left and right): will be performed zoom IN/OUT
01_move_{L/R/U/D}: for the following apps: Waze, Sygic, Maps, using only the Idrive joystick (up, down, right and left): will move the map up, down, right and left

Hi. That makes it seem like the OS is killing Tasker in the background.

To make sure Tasker and the AutoApps run in the foreground please check here: https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide/en/faqs/faq-problem.html#00

Pay special attention to the location part. If Tasker doesn't have permission to get location in the background it might not work correctly, so disable and re-enable the location permission and make sure that you allow Tasker to always access it.

Make sure to check here too: https://dontkillmyapp.com/?app=Tasker

Hope this helps!
