Is it possible to set an IF condition in Task to determine if an alarm is currently ringing? (I know it's an existing event but need to detect it in a task.)

Have you had a look on clocktask? I am pretty sure you will be able to set something like that through it.

I've installed ClockTask and see the plugin options in Tasker - but still don't see how that will help. Could you please be more specific?

You could use the Alarm Clock event to set a variable and the Alarm Done event to clear it. Then use the variable in your task.

Unfortunately, the Alarm Done event never seems to occur. My variable/flag never gets flipped back. Any ideas why?

After doing more research, it turns out that the broadcast intents that Alarm Clock and Alarm Done depend upon are not produced by the Android OS. Instead it is up to the clock app installed to send these intents.

Unfortunately, most stock clock apps no longer send these intents.

My device usually displays a notification while the alarm is going off. Maybe you could use an AutoNotification Intercept state to set/clear the variable?

I have been using the Clock app by Google. About a month ago I noticed that the notifications have stopped. I have not been able to capture the intents properly. Any suggestions?

You should use AutoAlarm to create a time based context that will go off at the same time as your alarm :) Check here for an example.

Thanks for the tip Joao. Any way to add the alarm title to the list of variables?

One odd thing that started happening after I imported your example profile and then restarted Tasker. Now each time I save in Tasker (click on the check mark) a profile that monitors Battery Level and Power triggers an Event. Neither the battery or the power has changed.

Thanks for the report! If you delete my project that stops happening again?

When I deleted the profile the problem disappeared. Thanks.
Any comments about including the event title?

Unfortunately that's not available, sorry!

Can you please export the profile that was wrongfully triggering so I can try to reproduce it?

After a bit more testing I have found that there are a number of profile types that cause both Time event profiles that use variables to set the time range and Wifi Connected profiles to trigger when I select the check mark to save the Tasker configuration.
These include the Ime event, WiFi Connected, AutoNotification Intercept and the AutoLocation location profiles. T
Once one of them has been updated both profiles trigger whenever one of these profiles is updated, until I stop and restart Tasker.
