I found a program which detects meetings and puts the phone into "Do not disturb" mode......

Alas though it works at the start, it doesn't restore when done.

I tried putting an EXIT task to restore the mode, but it doesn't work.

Could anyone help with this?

I have the same issue.  I place my phone in silent mode w/ vibrate for meetings.  However, my exit task, which includes "silent mode = off" and "Do Not Disturb = All", do not change the status back to Ring.  All help appreciated.

Have you tried simply setting the ringer volume after the other commands?

No I haven't.  I figured that would trigger only the ringer volume, but leave all other notifications as silent.  I will try this, but do you know why the silent off doesn't work?

Bloodbath,

I think the problem is that at the end of the "meeting" nothing is done - in Tasker.
(I am only guessing)

At the start of the time frame (I won't say meeting as that is too specific.) Tasker is called and sets the volume as you want.

I added an "exit task" in an attempt to address the problem, but it doesn't seem to "work".
I don't know if that is a problem with Tasker or the O/S.

I have written a program which brings up a window and you enter time time (length) of the phone to be in silent and have a "vibrate" option.

The phone is put into silent or vibrate mode for that time, then returns to normal.

If you want it, I can post it.

Brad,

That would work.  I guess the "problem" is determining WHEN to do that.

Also, I just put the phone back to "normal" mode and levels are restored to what they were.
See my other post I posted to Bloodbath.

I have never really used "Do not disturb" mode.
But to me, reading what you said, why would you put DND mode to "ALL"?
Shouldn't it be turned "OFF"?

I use a "better" APP for that, as I seldom turn the phone off.  It just goes to SILENT mode of an evening.

If you don't mind sharing, I'd certainly like trying it.  Thanks.

I found this online, and this is why I set it to all:

  • None: silences all sounds, including alarms - Total Silence
  • Priority: silences sounds except for certain calls or notifications - Priority Only
  • All: this effectively ends Do Not Disturb mode
  • Alarms: silences all ringtones & vibrations except alarms - Alarms Only

No promises but here is the project file.

Run the DND config task.
