how do you delete an action?

I can't find a way to delete an action in a task. How can something so basic be so un-intuitive for new users like me?

Press the right hand side of the task and drag it downwards and a bin will appear drag it to that and boom gone.

OK, I figure it out. You have to drag it without pressing down for too long. That is the stupidest delete idea ever, is it really that hard just to put a bin icon somewhere?

Also, why is there no save button after editing Time? Instead back button = save? Seriously? Back button = going back, not save! Why is basic operation of Tasker so un-intuitive compared to other apps?

Or, long press to select an action and use CUT. I find that easier than dragging and dropping. 

Also you can select multiple actions and remove them all at once.

Hows it stupid :/ Its genious its invisible its only there when you need it so it isn't taking up space that can be used for something else later on. Apex Launcher has the same thing when deleting icons/widgets infact quite a few apps have this.

You think Taskers un-intuative? there's only 2 apps I no of that let you build your own apps right on your device. One is Tasker and the other is this.

I agree the back button to saves not great but you get used to it. There's probably a reason it was done that way.

No, Tasker gave profile and Task their own delete button, but did not do it for Action, so that was strange and un-intuition. The GUI and operation is not consistent across the App.

Well all I wanted to do was set uTorrent on during Off Peak internet time, I thought this was a 5 minutes job. 2 hours later, I am still unable to get it done...

That is a 5 minute job once you are familiar with Tasker.

Create a new profile and the select the Time context. Set the start time that you want. Hit the back button to exit and save. The task add screen will appear. Select + New Task and then select App category and then select Load app. Find utorrent and select it. Hit back to save and back again to exit task add screen. That's basically it.

Yes there is a learning curve here same with many other things in life. But when it comes down to that you really have 2 options. Climb the hill or walk in the other direction.

Yes the UI is not perfect, nor does anyone expect it to be. It's an app that is designed for automation not perfect user interface. If your new I suggest at least watching 1 video on how Tasker works before diving into it. I've watched several when I was new to it and now I have a to-do list that is quite capable and fits in well with my daily life. I also have a great level of PC control right from my phone.

If you begin climbing the hill, and can manage to climb it, I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

FTR, I found this very obtuse and nonintuitive also. When long-pressing on an action produces Cut, Copy, Paste, etc. options, it would make sense for Delete to be among those too. Click-and-drag the right side of the action to move to the trash bin is pretty inconsistent from a UX/UI perspective.

That's not a bad idea, I personally (long time tasker user) just do a 'cut' then exit, that does the same sort of thing. I think a long click 'delete' amongst the other options there would be a good thing.

Seems like a lot of time and energy being spent on something so trivial. You got the help you needed and now you know how it works. As a new user I don't think you should be complaining about the UI. Use the time and energy reading the very comprehensive users manual.

If you got into a car and couldn't find the gearstick/gear lever, would your 1st response be "Wow I need to read the manual," or "Whoa this is confusing?" Simple, basic operations should always be intuitive and obvious. We're trying to delete something from a list in a GUI, not to deploy node.js to an AWS instance. 🙄

I would read the manual, but that's me. You know that there are two different factors contributing to UX – ease of learnin, and ease of use after you've mastered the app. My feeling is that Tasker has the second higher in the priority list, and that's how it should be in my opinion. To each their own, apparently.
