Tasker HTTP GET downloads HTML source...not file data...HELP !

Greetings to all members.

I am relatively new to Tasker and struggling with HTTP GET.

I would like to download a task , XML file from the cloud using HTTP GET.

I have placed a test XML file in a shareable Google Drive link.

This is what I am doing:

1.- I set a %File_url variable to the file link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Byi5-ZA_MWfXdG43a3pwU0hfQms

2.-I create a HTTP GET action, as follows:

     Server:Port %File_url

     Path: Optional

     Attributes:Optional

    User Agent:Optional

    Mime Type: text/xml

    Output File:downloaded_file.txt

3.-Read File:-->

    File:downloaded_file.txt

    To Var

    %Downloaded_file

4.-Flash: %Downloaded_file

%Downloaded_file displays the page HTML Source...not the XML file...

What am I missing...

I appreciate any help you can provide since I am REALLY STUCK ;)

Hi Abdullah, thanks very much for the tip...IT WORKED ;)

I assumed that Tasker's HTTP GET action would take care of necessary HTTP parameters...clearly it doesn't.

Where would you suggest I can learn more about HTTP method and all its parameters ?

I am not Expert.

I have just figured out the right link.

The link you used was for the page that contains the file's link. In that page there is an arrow button for download, the link of this button is what you should use.

Thanks again Abdullah...since Google is discontinuing Google Drive next year, It would be a better solution to upload files to the Tasker WIKI

Since Tasker has a way of importing profiles from the WIKI:

Tasker-->Settings-->More-->Browse Examples-->User Wiki-->select a profile-->Download-->Complete action using Tasker

The Project/Profile/Task/Scene will be downloaded to the corresponding "Projects", "Profiles", "Tasks", "Scenes" folder inside the "Tasker" folder.

This way, we don't have to deal with Google Drive's API.
