to Tasker
I have an alarm on my Android phone (version 8), that goes off at 3:00pm every day.
The alarm is set using the default clock app that came with the phone.

Often my phone is not nearby when it goes off.

What I would like to do is use my Alexa to kill the alarm, turn the volume to 0.
I have created a Tasker profile that handles notification events and it works for
other apps.

I can't seem to find an action that will stop the clock or turn the alarm volume to 0.
My task runs and I have an action that kills the app clock. It doesn't do that.
I added a task to set the alarm volume to 0. It doesn't do that.
I know the task is running because I have a flash alert popup that shows me the notification fields.
That works fine.

Any ideas on how I can do what I want. I want to say "Alexa trigger kill alarm".  I have this all set
up via IFTTT but just can't get it to work.

Thanks for any ideas.

I did see some results that had an example of creating an Event profile when the clock alarm went
off.  I don't see that option under Profiles.  It talked about sending intents? No idea what that's about.

The Alarm Volume action in the Audio category is what you are looking for.

Another comment.
From my testing, I can set the Media Volume to any level in my task, but not the Alarm Volume.
Wonder if it is because the alarm is currently running?

I am using the default Clock app that came with my Android phone on v8.0
I also tried the Kill > Task.  It did not stop the clock/alarm.

Basically, I just want to use Alexa to some how silence that alarm.

Thanks.

I am able to change the alarm volume while the alarm is playing. My device is a Samsung Galaxy S9 with Oreo 8.0.0.

You may need to uncheck Restore Settings in the profile options.

To get to the profile options, long-press the profile name to select it. Then click on the cog at the top of the screen.

Must be getting too old for this stuff.
I tried my Tasker app again, and it worked?  Made no changes.
Even works when I ask Alexa to trigger it.

Thanks for the comments. Will check out the Profile options.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5.

OK, one last comment.
First off, my task is triggered by a notification sent by Alexa

I wasn't quite correct about it working with Alexa.
When the alarms goes off, to test, I ran the task manually. It worked
as expected.

When I say 'alexa trigger alarm off', I see the task is running due to several Flash
alerts. The sound stops briefly, but continues a second later.  It finally dawned on me
that the IFTTT notification was causing a problem, since it makes a sound.  I went to Notification
settings and set IFTTT to make no sounds for IFTTT.
Now, finally, it works.

Thanks for the tips again.

One last question if I may, or maybe it should be a separate post?
My first attempt was to use Tasker to kill the Clock app which was
sounding the alarm when it got the notification. I am using the
default Android clock.  Just a simple app set to the that app does nothing.
Any idea what I could be doing wrong there?

Thanks again.

Last comment for sure.

I discovered a one line of Tasker code to do the trick.
It finally dawned on my, the alarm displays a notification
which can be swiped to dismiss.

So, I just have an Autoinput plugin task using the Gesture option and that's it.
When the task runs, the swipe occurs automatically, and alarm is gone, sound and all.

A learning exercise for me, for sure.

Thanks again.
