Tasker is saying that Get Voice (or the Javascript command getVoice) is unavailable on my Galaxy S4 (i9500 using Omega ROM).
I can definitely use voice commands on my phone (eg. using S Voice).

Anyone know what I should do to enable Get Voice?
I don't think I can use AutoVoice Recognize because I'll be simply saying Yes or No to custom prompts.

Thanks in advance!

I just tried Input - Menu, and Tasker asked for root access, and then did it successfully, so it is not a root problem.
In this case (Get Voice), Tasker didn't even ask for root access.

Tasker is saying that Get Voice (or the Javascript command getVoice)

The first one, the secnod one, or both ?

It's 'saying'. What do you mean by that ? Please give details.

It has nothing to do with root BTW.

Hi Pent,

When trying to add via add action > Input > Get Voice:
Get Voice is shown in red, and when tapped, comes a popup at the bottom of the screen that reads:
Sorry, that action is unavailable on this device.

When testing getVoice using JavaScript (by clicking the Play button on the bottom left):
On the bottom of the screen there is a popup that reads:
(Tasker logo) Warning
Action Get Voice isn't available on this device.

Is that clear? Do you know the solution? Thanks!

Well then it's unavailable because Tasker didn't find a speech-recognizer on your device.

Um, my question was, why didn't Tasker find a speech-recognizer on my device? (I could use S Voice without problems)
How can I make the speech recognizer visible to Tasker? Or how to install another speech recognizer? Or any other way so I could use Get Voice?
Thanks!

My best guess would be something about your ROM. A custom ROM can change anything about
a device, Tasker is built to work with vanilla Android.

Thanks Pent I understand that.
Do you think there is any way to hack the ROM to enable Get Voice?

That's a question better suited for the ROM developer.

I added that as a tip to the action help. Not that it helps much if you can't access the action. Which gives me an idea....

Sweeeeeeeter! I'm guessing some kind of a check to see if the apps already installed and if not tell us to install it before complaining it don't work :)
