SWAT-Cup versus ARCSWAT output

So I finished a calibration in SWAT-Cup using SUFI2. Swat cup gave me
the best parameter values. I plugged those into ARCSWAT using manual
calibration helper, re-wrote tables and ran ARCSWAT again.

I continue to struggle with matching output values from my calibrated
model in SWAT-Cup versus ARCSWAT. SWAT-Cup gives me Best_Sim.sf2.
Here I get montly discharge in m3/s. Where can I find the equivalent
in output from ARCSWAT?

Thanks.

As far as I remember I had this issue too. I think you don't need to manually "plug" in best parameter set into your SWAT input files. What you should do after you run an iteration is just replace the "best simulation number" from the summary.stat file into your SUFI2_swEdit file (put the same number as starting simulation number and ending simulation number) and run SUFI.run again. It would replace the best parameter sets into your SWAT project. Now, run SWAT.exe again, the results should agree.

Hope that helps.

I see what you are suggesting, but i would think replacing the best
parameters using calibration helper should be doing the same thing and
should then produce the same results as SUFI does. There has to be a
solution. What I wonder is what output file do I look at in ARCSWAT
so that I can properly convert monthly dicharge in mm (from ARCSWAT)
to m3/s (in SWAT CUP).

Thanks.

Hi,
I need to manually "plug" in best parameter set into your SWAT input files, because I have other stations to calibrate.
Although, when I put the parameters found and the Best Sim using the Manual Calibration Helper, I dont get the same results.
Is there other way? I have to put these parameters for some subbassins, not for all.
Thanks

Hi,
There is no need to go back and modify parameters in the SWAT model that you have built.
Calibration is done completely in SWAT CUP by SUFI2, for example.
Perform calibration from headwaters and move downwards. Do not recalibrate the subbasins you have previously calibrated, in order words, use the Utility tool to extract the subsequent subbasins that need calibration.
Hope this helps.
Aslam.

I have 3 stations that I want to use them to calibrate.
I start with the one most upstream. Then, I would like to change the parameters found just to the subbasins upstream of the one I used to calibrate. Then I would go to the next one, and I would change the parameters found just for subbasins downstream of the first one, but upstream of the second station. And I would do the same for the third station. Thats why I would like to put the parameters back to SWAT, so than I can run and start anothe calibrarion.

No need at all to go back to SWAT. Everything henceforth for calibration is done in SWAT CUP. No need to rewrite parameters in your SWAT project.

But how I would change that parameters just for some specific subbasins?

Dear Sir/Madam

I am now facing with the same problem as you mention. I want to do an assessment on climate change, but when i write the best parameter values from swat-cup to arcswat, the result from arcswat is far different from swat-cup.

So, I would like to ask for advice from you to deal with this problem.

I am looking forward to hearing a good news from you.

Sincerely yours,
Sarit

You maybe using different swats. Make sure your swat and the swat in swatcup are the same.
