I use two dive computers when diving.  An OSTC2 as primary and Suunto D4i as backup.  I always download the dive profiles from both dive computers into Subsurface.

If I were to only use one dive computer Subsurface remembers the Vendor, Dive computer and Device or mount point for that computer.  Unfortunately when using two dive computers I have to reset these three fields each time I download one or the other dive computer.

Would it be possible to remember and fill the fields for Dive computer and Device or mount point when the Vendor is selected for the relevant dive computer?

Clearly the values in the automatically filled fields can be changed if a different dive computer is downloaded.

Thank you for your consideration.

I've bin playing around with the idea of creating shortcuts. Like, settings for divecomputer1, divecomputer2 and so on, and then you can recall them by a simple click. I haven't gotten around to actually testing the idea, because It doesn't that that long to download logs from even 3-4 computers. Its rather connecting cables, and screwing of and on caps that takes time.

Sounds like a great idea Anton.  Please continue your experiments.  Anything that saves time and reduces unnecessary repetition would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Laurie

Fantastic.  I didn't expect my request to be implemented so soon or without some attempt at persuasion.

Thanks so much.

Cheers

And that next version has just been released. 4.8.3 is out and has the dive computer shortcut buttons.
