I'm very new to Spine, and nothing like an old hand with JS (I am far more comfortable writing snippets of CoffeeScript, but that was deployed in a Rails app).
In any case, loving CoffeeScript, I wanted to try Spine.js, and I've started to try to build an app using it, and yet, if I make only minor changes from the defaults created by spine, the index.html fails to load with "Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined" at the reference to jQuery in index.html:
<script charset="utf-8">
var exports = this;
jQuery(function(){
var App = require("index");
exports.app = new App({el: $("body")});
});
</script>
Note: I haven't yet changed index.html at all from the version created when I ran
to get started:
C:\Users\ddurrett\projects>fc test-app\public\index.html VectorUI\public\index.html
Comparing files TEST-APP\PUBLIC\index.html and VECTORUI\PUBLIC\INDEX.HTML
FC: no differences encountered
What could I have munged? More to the point, when I encounter this problem later how can I debug it? I have no references in the rest of my code to jQuery (though I'd expect I'll want to add some eventually!).
If other information would be helpful, please let me know. I'm kind of at my wit's end trying to use this, but really don't want to start learning yet another framework (especially as Spine.js seems so promising from a structural standpoint).
Thanks in advance,
Derrell
