Using Sozi SVG in a powerpoint presentation

Greetings,

I discovered Sozi yesterday, when a friend of mine showed my university class and I Prezi. I find both tools usefull, and in particular with Sozi, about which I had the feeling a sozi-made SVG can be added to a powerpoint presentation.

I want to use an SVG in a powerpoint because, well, I want to have the pros of both.

The problem is, so far, I've been able to add classic SVGs to powerpoint, but not Sozi-made SVGs: each time, it lost its Sozi features.

So, I have a question, and possibly a request: is it possible to add a Sozi-made SVG to a powerpoint presentation, and be sure it keeps its Sozi features? And if it isn't, I suggest to find a way to do it. :)

(FYI, I tried to make a html page with my sozi pic and then add it to my presentation, but since I suck at html... XD)

Sozi relies on JavaScript to play your presentation and animate the transitions.

Unless PowerPoint includes a JavaScript engine, I think it will not be possible to embed Sozi presentations inside PowerPoint documents.

To be honest, I don't think this is a relevant use case for Sozi, so I won't put it at the top of my todo list.

If anyone wants to spend time implementing this feature, I will be happy to integrate it in a future version of Sozi.

I understand.

The way I see it, since Sozi can be added into html pages, the simplest way would be using html: there's a mod to microsoft powerpoint calle "LiveWeb" which can add html pages into one's presentation. So, to add a sozi SVG to a presentation, a solution would be to add the SVG to a html and then to the powerpoint presentation.

The only problem then would be: making a guide explaining both how to make a html page just for one's sozi and how to add it to powerpoint, like the guide pages made about pdf and video. (And I would understand if it were low in your todo list.)

Sozi 15 has a new file format for Sozi presentations.
The original document is still an SVG, but the presentation is saved into an HTML document that contains a copy of your SVG.

My question now is simple: how to install version 15? Is there a manual? Do I past the .zip file content in the inkscape folder directly? Are there instructions?

Extract the zip file anywhere and run the Sozi executable.

N.B: Sozi 15 has not been officially released yet. There is no manual available currently.

Since the html file save a copy of the svg file, that means that to play the presentation only it is needed the html file?

The json file isnt needed?

Yes.

The HTML file contains a copy of the SVG *and* a copy of the JSON.
