Hi,

Permissions are not applying automatically for new projects with permission template.
For ex: If we have permission template with com.abc.xyz.*,  then it is not applying permissions for new projects that starts with key
com.abc.xyz.*

Could you please help what could be usual issue for this kind of issues?

Hi,

While creating a template I used Project Key Pattern : com\.abc\.xyz.* , but it does not work as mentioned earlier.

Hi Reddeppa,

Do you have multiple templates? Is perhaps the wrong template being chosen?

Hi Ann,

Thanks for the reply. Yes. I have multiple templates. So, could you please confirm if the permissions will be applied automatically for new projects with permission template that we have at first time, and what ever permission templates created later will be ignored ?

Hi Ann,

I have another scenario, where the project key starts with com.xxx.pprp  , and only one permission template is created with Project Key Patterncom\.xxx\.pprp.* , but still it does not apply permissions automatically for projects that will be created with key com.xxx.pprp.

Hi Reddeppa,

Since you confirm that you have multiple templates, would you investigate whether the permissions from an unexpected template are being applied? I suspect that your project key has multiple matches.

Hi,

Thank you for the response.

For testing purpose I have create this scenario:
Where the project key starts with com.xxx.pprp  , and only one permission template is created with Project Key Pattern com\.xxx\.pprp.* , but still it does not apply permissions automatically for projects that will be created with key com.xxx.pprp. So, in this case there is no chance of project key has multiple matches.

Hi Reddeppa,

What version of SonarQube are you using? Also, how are you creating these projects? Via provisioning or directly via first analysis?

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

SonarQube Version I'm using is:5.6.6
When I create a project via first analysis, then no permission are NOT applying automatically, whereas when I create a project via  Administration--> Projects -->Projects Management--> "Create Project", then permission are automatically applying new projects.

Hi again,

I deleted existing projects that I created via first analysis on Jun-16th (Friday), and I've created same projects via first analysis today (just now), then fortunately it worked and permission are automatically applyed to new projects. Not sure why was it not worked on Friday :(

Thanks a lot for help.

Hi,

When you create a project via first analysis what permissions does it have? None? For anybody? Do its permissions match *any* template?
