Morning all

Keeping an eye out on eBay for the above, but is it possible to unlock a 5s if I buy one that was an unwanted upgrade through a different carrier?

Can I do it?
Or Sam, or one of those cyber cafes?

Thanks Sam, that's helpful.

There's one in Brighton, no an easy pickup, but on 3 and I'd rather not switch!

is there a mix-up here between 'unlock' and 'jailbreak'? I thought carriers could unlock phones (usually reluctantly)

That's interesting Jason, thanks.

I mean unlock to any carrier, not jailbreak.

This site suggests they can do it remotely?

Carriers will unlock only after the contract has been paid off (or bought out) and only at the request of the original contract holder.

There’s an untethered jailbreak for iOS7.0.4 but that’s not a carrier unlock.

Carriers will unlock them but they all exempt the 5c and 5s which they say can't currently be unlocked as Sam advised.
