Smuggers

We've a WiFi blackspot in the house and the MacBook's don't get enough signal to stream iPlayer etc.

I've no experience with boosting signal, but amazon has one of these:

But also, what about AirPort Express? Is that the same thing? We just want to be able to stream in the blackspot room!

If AirPort is recommended, is anyone using the old style one with Mavericks? I notice there is a new one, rather like a white AppleTV shape. But is an AirPort overegging the pudd for my needs?

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks all

Adam

This is your best bet : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Devolo-dLAN-500-Wi-Fi-Starter/dp/B00C5IA4TW/

Use your power cables to create a network, and use the adapter to create a new wifi network (with the same name & password as your current network) from the centre of the blackspot.

Thanks Sam

Not sure I know what you mean?!

Power cables for a network?
And does the unit need access to the broadband or does it take it from the current wifi? I hoped to just plug something into the AC!?

Am I missing something?

Thanks as ever

Yup you just plug one box into the power next to the router and connect via Ethernet. Then you plug the wifi unit into any power socket in the house and the wifi network originates from that position.
