Always sensible to listen to Sam, and this weekend our Devolo wifi kit arrived.

Talk about it doing exactly what it says on the tin, it's not cheap (£75ish) but within 10mins and literally plug and play we now have full strength wifi upstairs.

All in the name of a pregnant Mrs P, wanting to kick back upstairs in some peace and quiet and enjoy House of Cards season 2!

Anyway, just wanted to thank Sam and SMUG for another helpful recommendation, and problem solved.

For full marks, use the Devolo dlan cockpit software to load the configuration page of the Dlan wifi access point. Once there, set the wifi SSID (network name) and password to match that of your original Wifi network and you won’t have to worry about which network you’re joining.

Thanks Sam, a well deserved 10/10 is on the cards here, so just to check, by 'password' is that the what I enter into the WPA box?

Yes the SSID is the network name, WPA Key is the wireless password, sometimes called WPA-PSK Key too
