Hi,

A Happy New Year to everyone.

Until very recently when using Numbers there was Edit / Paste Values which enabled me to copy/paste a row of totals from one sheet to the next.  This month I have gone to do what I do every month and the function has gone.  I Copy the row of figures from one sheet and when I Paste in the next sheet it simply copies the figures from the row above in the second sheet not the numbers I have just Copied.

Help!!!!

Diana

Have you gone over to the awful upgrade? It’s a dreadful rubbishing of the app.

If so, you will probably find the old (09) versions are still in your apps folder. just launch this and you’ll have the nice old numbers, keynote and pages.

Tiresomely, the app store will keep offering you the dreadful update, and will try to slide it onto your machine. I’d put an icon in the dock, and open files by dragging them onto the dock icon.

Thank you so much for that.  It worked a treat.

I have found Numbers 09 and reinstated it.  I had to File / Export my spreadsheet to Numbers 09 and all is well again.  I will even get my old Comment boxes back again which I did not like losing.  Will not be upgrading Numbers again.

It could be that (assuming you're using the latest version of Numbers and you previously used iWork '09) the functionality has been removed or moved. Plenty of people complained that things were no longer available but it was just the case that Apple had moved them!

Also, you won't be able to open the document with iWork '09 if you've already opened it in the latest Numbers and you will have to restore from a backup.

As I'm not familiar with the functionality you've lost I can't be of much more use ...
