I can post to Wordpress using the WP icon,  but everytime I do,  I get the message:

Can't save or update the post because "Can't get the address of "methodResponse" because the table doesn't have an object with that name."

but when I go look at the blog, the post is there.

The "bug" is with the updating of an existing post. Each time I update and press the WP icon, a new , duplicate post is created in Wordpress. It's like it's not recognizing that I am updating an already existing post.

Any help is appreciated greatly.

The reason it's creating a new post every time is because of the error that happens when you post.

That error usually means that the server responded in HTML, not XML.

I don't have any clues to offer as to why that might happen in the case that the post gets through successfully.

Usually it means a configuration error, the wrong URL for the blog in settings. But it would seem it's correct or else the post wouldn't have gotten through.

You might want to post the info here but leave out your username and password of course.

Dave,

Really appreciate your quick reply.  Here's the info under my Settings' Blog tab:

Under the Blog tab,  I have checked the box that says "Check this box if you want to connect your outline to a Wordpress site"

my URL is the URL for my blog:  http://wp.theoblogical.org

the name and password are the admin password for my blog.

I tried UNCHECKING the box to pass the text through Markdown,  but that didn't make any difference.

I still get the error I mentioned above,  but the post is created,  but also a new post is created when I edit or add text to the post and press the Wordpress button again.

Markdown or not will not make a difference.

Try putting a slash at the end of the URL. That might make a difference.

You also might bring this problem to the people hosting your site, if you're not self-hosting.

Otherwise I don't have any other advice at this time.

Dave,

Thanks again.  If you could take a guess at how I might pose this question to the host support,  that would be good advice,  because I dont really know how to describe this problem.  I mean,  is Fargo sending XML/OPML?   Is the error I'm seeing a Fargo description or something coming from Wordpress?  I'm pretty clueless about this,  since like you say, the post goes in anywa,  but something is keeping Wordpress from being able to determine if a incoming message is a new post or an update of an existing one.

FYI,  here is the support ticket  I submitted to my Web hosting service , WinHost:

I am using a browser based OPML outliner tool developed by Dave Winer at fargo.io The app has a feature that lets me upload an outline as a blog post to Wordpress. I've given it my Wordpress admin credentials in the settings for my blog under the tools of the Fargo app.
What happens when I post is that I get an error as follows:

Can't save or update the post because "Can't get the address of "methodResponse" because the table doesn't have an object with that name."
And yet the Wordpress post is there when I look at my blog at http://wp.theoblogical.org (hosted at WinHost)
Another error that happens is that when I do an update to an outline and re-submit it to wordpress, Wordpress creates a new duplicate post with my changes added to it, like it's lost track of the original ID so it can update.
I read that Wordpress 3.5 and later has XML-RPC turned on by default, but I don't know if that is even the issue here. I'm not familiar with what the error even means, but it seems to have to do with the server responding with HTML instead of XML. Any ideas?
