Hello,
I was wondering about the Session Buddy autosave feature. How often should it be autosaving? I have found that days can go by between my saved sessions. So sometimes if Chrome crashes or I have to close the browser, Session Buddy's last autosave was from two days ago and none of the tabs I wanted to recover were there. Is there a frequency option I am not seeing? Under settings I see a "Automatically Record Sessions" option, but nothing about frequency. So I don't know if I am a dummy or if my Session Buddy is broken. Lol.

Chrome Version 26.0.1410.43
Session BUddy 3.2.1
Mac OS X 10.6.8

Thanks!

SB should be actively recording the session every time it changes (eg, you open a new tab), so if the most recent Previous Session doesn't accurately represent the state of your session when you last closed Chrome (or when it last crashed), that's a bug. Is this happening consistently/frequently?

I don't know exactly. I haven't been investigating it. I just noticed out of the 3 times I have tried to use my session buddy, it only had my recent tabs once. I thought maybe I was missing a setting. So now that I know, I will monitor the situation more closely over the next couple days and report back with more information. Thank you for getting back to me.

So, I've been watching and it doesn't seem to matter whether I open or close tabs, how long they were open, etc. The session seems to save randomly and not very often. I open and close tabs all day every day. Here is a pic of my Previous Sessions saved. As you can see they are days apart even though I use my browser every day. Thanks.

To clarify, the generation of a Previous Session has nothing to do with how many tabs you open/close. A Previous Session should only be created whenever you close the last open tab, shut down Chrome, or Chrome crashes. Are you saying there are cases when you open Chrome after one of those 3 actions/events and a new Previous Session has NOT been generated?

Yeah, I am having the same problem too. SB Auto record feature is showing me just empty tab (0 links) and this happened more than one time.

Hey,

I am having the same issue.
Session Buddy has stopped saving sessions.
It just says that all my sessions are empty.

Not entirely sure why this is. It used to work amazing. Now it doesn't work at all.
I have resorted to saving the sessions manually.

Any ideas on what I can do to get Session Buddy saving sessions again? I have tried reinstalling it but no luck.

My next idea was to try reinstalling Chrome.

thank you,

Cheers

Try this (assuming Windows OS):

Close Chrome completely (check tooltray and right-click > "Exit" if Chrome icon is present).

Then navigate to:

"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage"

... and delete the following 2 files:

"chrome-extension_edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko_0.localstorage-journal"
"chrome-extension_edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko_0.localstorage"

Then test by restarting Chrome, opening a few tabs, and closing again after a few seconds. After the next restart a new valid Previous Session should have been generated.

I can provide similar instructions for OSX if necessary.

But if I open multi-tabs, so I want to previous session can save all opened window just before when I close one of it, the result is that it only saved part of session. I think it's a issue, So if can add a function that can set the frequency of auto-saved session. I think it's necessary. Thanks

@Rod

Refer to "current session data" in the following doc and substitute the location in the instructions previously given in this thread:

I am having the same issue. Because I rarely shut down Chrome, and I leave my PC in standby, it can be many days between auto-saved sessions. My "Previous sessions" list has; 2, 7, 10, 13, 20 days ago.

I am having to remember to regularly manually "Save current session", otherwise if Chrome crashes, my last session from 2 days ago is practically worthless!

As suggested elsewhere, it would be useful to be able to specify an auto-save interval (e.g. every 5 minutes).

Please enable specification of auto-save interval in next release.  Totally in the same situation as Julie Smith, Groby Cuyai et al.
