Ruby on Rails Study Group

Hi All,

I am new to Ruby on Rails. I have just started to get my feet wet with Michael Hartl's pdf. I am looking to start a study group that can help me and others who are just starting to learn.

Please let me know if anyone is interested. Based on the response we can pick a convenient location.

Good morning,

I’m writing this for all who are interested in attending the San Diego Ruby on Rails Study Group.

We are planning on having our first meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, May 13th) at the Starbucks at 4380 Kearny Mesa Rd San Diego, CA 92111.

The meeting will start at 6pm. 

Though I had a very recent change in schedule which may not allow me to get there until 6:30- Maybe we could push it back till then?

We are planning on covering the Michael Hartl Rails Tutorial to start out with, so at least be somewhat familiar with that resource (you don’t have to have completed it or anything, just be familiar enough with the start of it so we can start making some progress).

I look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow!

Hello Dee and Jacqui,

There will be a meeting today at 6pm at the Starbucks at 4380 Kearny Mesa Rd San Diego, CA 92111.

We had discussed each person trying to make a small Movie Review app where users can post reviews and other users can comment on them.  Don't worry if you can't come up with much by tonight.  The point is to try and work through challenges and discuss/problem solve areas where we are struggling with.

Hello All,

Unfortunately, a few of us are not going to be able to make it today, and with the group not yet being very large we are going to have to cancel. 

Next week will go on as planned at the same place.  6:30pm may be a better time for everyone too.

For those of you who are newcomers, try to have at least attempted building a Movie Review App by the next meeting.
