Please consult the mailing list archive, this has been discussed at
length before. http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-systems.s3ql

Can you point me to which topic you are refering to , rather than pointing me to the mailing list?

Oh, I see. Well, if you are using Ubuntu trusty then you are in for a
lot of work. There are no S3QL 2.x packages for trusty, because Trusty
doesn't come with a Python 3.3 stack.

To install S3QL on Trusty, you need to manually install most of the
dependencies and then S3QL itself. See
http://www.rath.org/s3ql-docs/installation.html for details.

If at all possible, I would recommend that you update to a newer version
of Ubuntu instead.

Hi, thanks for the update,

I checked the python version on this Raspberri Pi (Trusty) installation

It seems there are multiple versions of Python installed

The Python3 version is 3.4.0
The Python2 version is 2.7.6 (default)

These were already installed - I didn't add them

Not sure if this means anything to you but I thought I would let you know anyway
Thanks, Newman
