Hallo,

we have here a little studio with 7 workstations and
we have 4 nuke interactive licenses and 3 render licenses.

in the nuke cfg file I replace the <LocalHost> (the pc name) with the commandline flags (-x / -ix) after the nuke.exe command -> >"C:\Program Files\Nuke11.0v2\Nuke11.0.exe" -x ....

But the machines still pick up the wrong license.

What can I do?

cheers,
Vincent

Hi

Which RR version do you use?

What is the complete commandline that you use?

Holger Schönberger

In RR 8 it is possible to set a different license pool for some machines.
(At the per client config, change the license pool to workstation for
the interactive licensed clients)
But this requires a config/setenv change as well. I have logged a
ticket to add an example to RR.

Back to your render config.
I assume there is an issue with using <replace> inside a <replace>.
I have to try to repro the issue.

I would recommend using one line per machine by using
<Contains(<LocalHost>, CHARLIE ) -ix ? >

ah great I was looking for something like "<Contains..."  but did not looked hard enough.

thanks

this is much better now - but the commandline looks the same.

maybe it is a license return issue or something like that

cheer,
Vincent

I just tested the Contains with Localhost with some additional echo
lines before the Nuke command and it worked fine:
CommandLine= echo * client name is <LocalHost>
CommandLine= echo * <Contains(<LocalHost>, CHARLIE) yes, we are
CHARLIE ? NO >
CommandLine= echo * <Contains(<LocalHost>, VBLAASA ) yes, we are
CHARLIE ? NO >

Please compare the log files of the different machines.
Is there no license flag after "C:\Program Files\Nuke11.0v2\Nuke11.0.exe"?

another "-i" sliped into the commandline

must be the <AdditionalCommandlineParam>

other clients got no extra "-i"

is the <AdditionalCommandlineParam> important? or can I skip it ?

cheers,

Vincent

It is not important in your case.

There are two variables that can be the reason.

< ClientConfigParam>

Please check rrConfig, Per Client config, select the client of this log and then open the sub tab Render Apps.

Check the Add. Parameter of Nuke.

<AdditionalCommandlineParam>

Check the Job settings in rrControl, use the show all button, then the lower left  corner for additional commandline parameters.

Holger Schönberger
