Hi All,

I am currently using TeraTerm configured as a VT100 terminal

As far as I am aware it is not possible to turn the cursor on and off on a VT100 Terminal using an ESC sequence (please correct me if I am wrong) but assuming I cant, I was wondering if I could switch to a different terminal emulation within TeraTerm i.e. one which does support this

Anyone got any ideas on how I can turn the Terminal cursor on/off by ESC sequences ?

Steve

there is ESC [?25l and ESC [?25h which can disable/enable the cursor visibility, but it might not be from a VT100, but VT220 or VT510 etc.

At least the VT132 module by TheHighNibble does understand this code.

Found this documentation: https://ttssh2.osdn.jp/manual/4/en/, specifically "Supported Control Functions". It mentions the ESC sequences Anna shows, under a "DEC/xterm specific" heading. Unclear if TeraTerm needs to be put in a special operating mode to recognize those sequences, or if it just does that always. Look for "Show cursor" and "Hide cursor".

Hi All,

I can confirm that the ESC sequences Anna suggested do work with TeraTerm in VT100 mode

If I remember rightly, the cursor on/off commands weren't in the original VT100. But, they're so darn useful that a lot of emulators unofficially support it.
