Hi all,
In the spirit of openness, I felt I should explain why I've deleted the "Project:RS2" thread recently started on this group by the creator of that project.
Despite the name appearing to suggest a second version of ResourceSpace, in conversation with the author it became apparent that the project shares no code or database structure with ResourceSpace. It is therefore a completely different and separate DAM system, and the only connection would seem to be that there are (supposedly) scripts to migrate from ResourceSpace to that platform. Describing it as a "homage" to ResourceSpace is doing a fair bit of marketing work there.
With that in mind, a post here about that project is off topic, just as a post about any other DAM system would be.
The name and implied connection with ResourceSpace appear to be a cynical attempt to attract paid subscribers to that project, which at the moment is commercial only. It's therefore, basically, spam.
For clarity, there is no issue with anyone creating a new DAM product, commercial or otherwise, whether based on ResourceSpace or built entirely independently. The issue here is using this group to promote a commercial product and attempt to acquire customers from the ResourceSpace community.
