Hey guys!

I haven't even looked at this forum in the longest time! I just wanted to let you know I haven't abandoned my tank, and especially not my passion for tanks. I also wanted to ask a few questions.

First of all, my tank. It's still under construction. It has been for months and months. It will be for months and months. I'll post pictures when and if I get to the "rolling chassis" phase. But it's still a work in progress!

Now for those questions. Do any of you play World of Tanks? I know Steve Tyng did/does. (If you haven't heard of it, it's definitely worth a Google search.) If so, I'd love it if you'd leave your username, please! Mine is Spitfire155.

I play tanks on my new computer, and I'd like to thank Steve Tyng and the others again for their input when I was building it. :)

Me too.  My ID = northrba.  I’m a tier 6.  Working on getting the Hellcat on the US tree.  I’d like to join a clan if anyone has an opening.  My RC M1A2 Abrams is still on the drawing board.

Brian 1cab generally wants at least tier 7 or 8 but 1cabr will probably have a slot for you and you can get moved to 1cab when you get a big enough tank

I'm an avid player but I uninstalled it for the second time a couple of weeks ago.  I was playing way to much.  Will probably re-install when the snow starts to fall.

Screen name is of course SteveT44 and yes, the T-44 is my favorite in the game!

As Pete's a historical type I can understand his statement.  When I'd see these types of comments in the game, my first response was always, WOT is a game, not a history lesson!

I have like 20 tanks in my stable.  I'm heading up the Soviet medium tree now.  Only one tier 9 in my stable and that's the IS-8.  I have enough experience to get the AMX tier 9, but not the cash.  I've taken a break now that my premium account has expired.  Running the Centurion I and the Pershing are expensive.  Without premium I lose money on them even when I win...  I've also sold all of my artillery since they are no fun to play anymore.

My highest tier is 7. I have a T-43, and hopefully will soon have the IS. I really don't like the T-43, since it seems like a T-34-85 (Which I've already played a ton) but way worse. I'm really looking forward to the T-54 and T-62a! I don't know much about that T-44, but I'm really glad to hear that it has the potential to be a favorite.

I loved the is once i got the top gun turret and engine. For t44 get the wet ammo rack. Your gonna need it. And never use the repair kit unless its on the ammo rack.

Clan wars have a very specific set of requirements and certain clans run certain set ups. The T30 was at one time the tank to have, then it was the IS7, when I last was in it heavy, the American Autoloaders were king. WG knows how to get the most money out of players by having one tank that everyone cashes in xp to get then starts to weaken it and raise another up and repeat again and again. Same holds true for new tanks when they are released. First people with a lot of free xp'ed get them and the tanks are clearly better than all the others then with each "update" they bring it back to normal standards. T30, IS7, Batchat, e100, you name it.

Well, I've added all the guys that have responded.  I have the following tanks:

American:  Pershing

Brit:  Centurion I, Cromwell, Churchill I, and AT-2

French:  ELC and AMX 50 100

German:  JP and JP2

Chinese: Type58, 59-16, IS2

Russian: KV-1, KV-2, KV-1S, IS, IS3, IS8, SU85, SU100, SU122A

Pretty much all of them are fully upgraded except the JP2.  I was wrong.  I have 21 tanks and 3 open slots...

I don't think I'll be getting involved with Clan Wars anytime soon; tank companies and pubs are all I want. However, any type of historical battle looks interesting.

I figure any tank can be good, it's just the player. But some are definitely superior. :)

If you have to have the latest and greatest, it will cost you. If you just find what you like and play well, it's a really enjoyable game.  No one tank is that much better or worse than any other, it's all a matter of play style and what you want out of the game.
