I'm afraid you may need to pop for a new one if your heart is set on that model. They're not coming up used very often anymore, and I rarely see one smaller than 53. Or you can get a Clem 45cm with 26-inch wheels, which should have a similar fit. I just sold one..it's a great bike.

Hi Joe: I was really lucky about 1-1/2 yrs. ago and got a 50cm Saluki frame off this list. 10 yrs. old and in excellent condition. Here it is. Still hoping for an Atlantis.

That's beautiful. Phil Bickford's bike?

No, bought it from Bruce, back east; can't remember his last name.

I assume if you would consider a 53 you would have said so

Here is a used one for sale complete from a former RBW dealer in my area. Mention the birthday sale if his price is too high. That is when the price is the year you were born. I cannot vouch for the condition of the bike. But they built up my Bleriot for me and were nice and did a great job. Grant knows the owner, too. You can yelp them for reviews.

Kellie:

(Delighted that you enjoy riding your Saluki btw) I also dropped a note to Larry Black about that Atlantis and he emailed me some better pictures. It is the correct stock paint. It appears to be AT039 and he's put a nice new saddle and some other bits on it. If you or anyone else wants me to forward the pictures, just let me know. $2,700 is a bit steep. I told him a new frameset is $2,300, and used are avail for less. Pretty bike though and err, my size....:)

Either the pics posted so far are *extremely* bad, or that is not the stock color.

He sent me the pictures also.  The serial number needs one more digit.  He says he's had it 4 or 5 years, but nothing on prior history.  I got mine in early '03 & sn is AT0519.  My wife's has a dim past but hers is AT0488, but we know it spent a lot of its life in storage.  So AT039x is likely '02 at the latest.  Granted, an Atlantis ages well but a 14 year old bike is 14 years old.  Larry sorta glosses over things, never answered my fender question, and then put on the hustle about "pennies a day for what you want" and wheeling & dealing at the end of the month.

In the new pictures it does appear to be the correct color.  I notice it also has mid fork eyelets (Tubus Duo won't work otherwise).  Grant is loathe to drill holes in his forks so that was a post factory mod.

Hi Bruce, how are you? Yes I love my Saluki and still very grateful that you offered it. Yes, they sent me those pictures too. I believe they're insisting on selling it as a complete and I am not at all interested in many of the parts. Also, communication with them is a little strange. I could see with the additional pictures it does look more like a stock color.

Doing well, thank you. Still happily pedaling when I can get away. Hope you find the right frameset at the right price!

Remember to ask RBW which version you will be getting if you buy new, if that is going to metter to you. The regular version, or the newer version. I think I read that the new versions might have geometry and chainstay diffs from the older versions.

I talked with Grant last Sat. Production of Atlantis with new geometry is a way's away. So when you order a bike you can always get the past geometries anyway (more expensive models).

Sorry if I missed it but do you have info you would like to share on your Cheviot?  Assuming you were thinking of selling it, this is.

Nope haven't listed it yet but here's some info: 50 cm green; will sell it complete. Let me know if you're interested.

It has been wonderful to watch your persistence pay off. I think you'll enjoy the Atlantis. Great news!

Thanks Chris! Hope your Hilsen sells soon. What's the new project? I have to wait for that new frame but it'll give me time to squirrel away parts. 😃

Kellie, Congratulations! Mine is slightly larger at 53. I'm so pleased with it. Took some time to get used to the 26 inch wheel size but now I'm sold. Hope you receive yours in the 2-3 month window. And yes, the Atlantis led me down the path to two more Rivs. Pressed to have only one the Atlantis would be it.

Enjoy the anticipation:)
