2025 Summer Tour Trip Report

This summer, 9 of us (two families and 2 friends of families) did a 730 mile tour from Italy to Slovenia, then Austria, back to Italy and then Switzerland and a return to Germany. This year, Bowen (13 years old) rode his Rivendell Roadini for the entire trip. You can consider this my contribution to the summer photos thread as there are lots of photos of him riding that bike. He had one crash on the first day but kept going anyway. He grew 2 inches during the trip so I had to adjust his seat during the trip.

It was an amazing trip, filled with beautiful days and we only had a couple of days of riding through rain.

What a tour! I've hiked through some of the Swiss Alps and the Dolomites, and your pictures, as great as they are, can only hint at the natural beauty of these regions. But you've definitely inspired me to bring a bike if and when I make it back there.

Thank you for the report. I was inspired by Bowen's adventures here- I have a 3 and a 0 year old at home and look forward to these days (and quite enjoy shlepping them around without much interference on my own bikes at the moment).

Bowen's been touring since he was 5, and Boen's been touring since he was 4 (which admittedly was a bit young --- he was falling asleep on the tandem!), so you're not far off.
