Anybody want to sell a large SaddleSack in good shape? I love my well-used Carradice camper, but the extra bigness of the saddlesack is appealing. Willing to discuss asking price in some combination of cash, goods, and/or bike-related services.

Jim, if you happen to get multiple responses, would you please let me know?   Gratefully, Erin

So far, I have just one response, and a deal has been reached. If anybody else has a large saddlesack to sell/barter, contact Erin.

Thank you so very much Jim🌻

So I obtained a saddlesack from another list member, but it turns out to be a medium, not a large. I like the medium a lot, and will put it to good use, but I'm still in search of a large saddlesack. Anybody have one?

Forgive me for responding as I don't have one available, but can't help but share that I do own a large saddlesack, and that it is the most useful piece of auxiliary bicycle equipment I have ever owned... and I have more than one large saddlebag from another renowned and long-lived maker.   I bought my large saddlesack from Rivendell at $230 IIRC, and it is worth every penny and then some.  Good luck in your search, but whoever is willing to trade away their large Saddlesack bag is crazy.

Thanks Matt. I'd buy one from Riv, but there weren't any in stock last I checked (a couple weeks ago), and nobody I asked there seemed to have an estimate of when more would be available.

My hope is that somebody here has one, and for whatever reason, doesn't use it enough to justify keeping it around. Swapping stuff is hardly an unheard-of scenario with this bunch!

You may have called them just before a new shipment of the bags or something, because the last broadcast email from Rivendell, about 10 days ago, said they have all sackville bags in stock.   Still, if you can find an insane person who wants to get rid of theirs, please take the bag, as it clearly needs a safer home away from that unfit bag-owner.

Might want to call them. I was recently trying to order some cork grips which were saying out of stock but they had a ton of them.

Who knows. I actually called a few days after the aforementioned RBW mass email (which claimed the bags were in), and they had nothing, not even returns or rejects. It's possible they've got an unopened crate of the things that nobody has discovered yet. It's ok. I don't have a bag shortage, and I'm in no particular hurry. But if somebody has one to deal, I'm interested.

There is a Hoss on the bay, but I always found them a bit "frumpy", personally.

I think the Hoss is closer in usable size to the Saddlesack Medium; at least, I can get almost as much groceries in my Medium as I could in my Hoss. Also, the Hoss is quite "floppy" compared at least to the Saddlesack, at least a Medium. I rather think that, for the Hoss type of bag (as for the Carridice type of which it is a modification), there is a maximum optimum largest size that is smaller than that of the Hoss.

(I used my Hoss on my Ken Rogers tricycle where it worked very well, not needing to clear a central rear tire.)

I had a Hoss years ago. The guy I sold it to offered to sell it back. I agree that it's closer to the saddlesack medium.
