Well I do have two now, far down from years ago. No mote customs just the Hillborne I bought in 2021 and the Saluki I found a couple of years ago. I have a feeling for the riding I do the Saluki will be used the most, not even sure I am going to take the Hilborne off of the rollers and fork mount. It is still coldish here for me. As I get older the weather plays a big part in riding as do aches and pains but I find that when I ride my aches are not on my mind.

My 10 year hiatus from riding ended when Covid took over, I was pushed by my wife to try and ride. I had kept one bike after multiple back surgeries and the Bleriort got me going. I brought in an Atlantas but I am not a lover of the long chain stays. So I found a Hillbourne and set it up for comfort with choco bars and a B17. I use 48mm tires on that bike most of the time. The Saluki was a dream come true, I knew the original owner, we had both bought the a bike from the first and maybe only batch of Salukis, this was when you could choose a color. Mine ended up being a tad large, my current one is the right size, so life is good.

So I am just waiting for the weather to come around a bit more. Since getting my first Rivendell in 1997 I have only had one non Rivendell bike, a RB1 (not ma true Rivendell), but it was not for me, not even sure anymore why since this was about 1999.

Anyway, just a quick note on riding and not riding and the fact that as I get older my speed and distance have certainly changed.

Good riding....

Nice to hear you're still interested in riding, and hoping your weather cooperates quickly.  Roads have been clear for about a week here in Wyoming, and I'm taking my beloved Saluki out this morning!

I'll say that you seem to know what you like and want so, if anybody could get away with one bike, it might be you.  Given that the Saluki became the Homer, and that the Sam was introduced as a less expensive, made-in-taiwan/fewer sizes version of the Homer, and that the Bleriot was sort of an off-the-shelf version of the Saluki too for that matter, you certainly have some overlap going on.

Keith, a lot of overlap. For me when the 650b bikes started I have been very consistent. The big difference in the bikes are the 42cm, which I like a lot and the 48. The 48 is nice and soft for the most part, I ride paved roads mostly. The other big difference is the crankset, other than that similar builds.

My wife wants us to move to Brasil, she has a place there. In her city there is a huge bike lan but not like just riding wherever you end up.  The plus would be the weather, the minus the language. Money would go very far if it stays like now.
