This is not the two-wheeled orange steel beauty I wanted to get on the road, but I have to say I'm glad this one performed well today. Here in Southern Pennsylvania we did not get hammered as bad as those further North, but it was wet, heavy and wore me out nonetheless. My driveway is my personal Alpe d'Huez

This is really funny. And I needed a laugh today.

Yeah ! I look at like all the snow is great core body workout, be it shoveling or a snow blower, as Marty and anyone who removes snow regularly can attest ! I have quite the snow tool collection, with shovels for pushing and gathering/throwing. It doesn't seem like you're working all that hard, until you're done and take a shower and your muscles feel like rubber. Then I watch some Anatoly(Vladimir Shmondenko) videos on YT, and I know I still do more. Rest/recover/repeat !  "Strength/power" doesn't come from mass/bulk. It's pure inspiration.

Leah, I hope you fight off the virus. I came down 3x in Dec and Jan and it wasn't fun. It also kept me off the bike for a total of about a month, more's the pity, tho' I'm now getting back to "normal" -- "low normal" in my case.

Don’t miss that weather for five seconds 🤪

I’m on the no-ice warm and sunny plan. It’s the best!

I would file a complaint if I came down sick 3x in one month, Patrick. AWFUL.

Marty, your first picture of the snowblower had some meaning for me because we've had such a lousy winter out here that I've only gotten to use mine twice so far, and that is a drag. I like blowing snow. Wednesday before last was opportunity #2  when we got a healthy 15" in the driveway and I was tickled to be able to fire up both the blowers (I have two - a long story) and spend some satisfying time flinging snow hither and yon and cleaning things up.. I too am a fan of spring but it's arrival is much more meaningful if its preceded by a reasonably healthy winter and its attendant snowpack. This approaching spring brings concerns out here in the West about the summer to come

On the upside the lack of snow has provide lots of opprtunity to ride the bikes (of which I also now have two - well actually three and a frame but only two that I ride). It's actually felt like spring most of the winter except the sun is too low in the sky and the days have been too short.

My two machines. This is not a snowblower thread so I'll leave it at that (though Chuckie slipped into the picture in the background).

Marty (I've been behind in reviewing my forums because of events), that machine reminds me of my adolescent financing reality in the northwest suburbs of St. Louis!

I bought a Jacobsen Wheelhorse of that size at a garage sale. Its frame was broken by its big engine and an operator who tried to make an old pile of settling and refreezing snow go away. I tore it down, got the frame welded, put it back together, and built a subscription driveway and sidewalk-clearing business in the neighborhood, with most work done before customers backed out of their garages to go to work if the school closing announcement was made at 04:30.

I funded boots, and MSR XGK and a backpack for a Philmont expedition, a new (used) bike, and incidentals of my own discretion. A good wad of it went to college with me, too.
