cheviot and tall people

I've always loved the cheviot's looks, but riv has advised too small for me. anyone out there about 6-5 97 pbh riding one? how is it? my current rivs from 62 to 68, all good.

Riv advised so for a very good reason .... do heed it as they don't want unhappy customers anymore than you want to be one !

For the most part bikes for tall people not only need to to be taller but longer in overall reach from center, without the need for very tall/long reach stems and/or long(>25mm) setback seatposts.  Save your cash for a custom as you can pay for it now, or buy some frames that don't fit and end up selling... amounting to more time/effort/angst/$$ than if you had just bought the custom one first of all.

I ride a 60 Cheviot & a 61 Atlantis. My pbh is 89.5.

It looks like your at the top of the pbh range for a 60.

Tom,
I will verify that you and I (99.5pbh) are just slightly over a real comfortable fit on any Cheviot. When in doubt ask for Will he is 6’4” or 6’5” I believe and has been 100% honest each and every time. He can relate to our perspective and situation perfectly. He has also tipped me off about additional projects that would work ( i.e. the 64cm Clem L, Jumbo Rosco Bubbe Mountain non-mixte.). Now the Hillibike.....he is ordering the Large and in 15 seconds confirmed a fourth XL size that would accommodate me. I simple said “Thanks, you are the best and ended my call.”

I’m 6’ 4” with 97 pbh and I had a 60 cheviot for a while. It fit but I needed a tallux stem and lots seat post. It rode great but might be a tad too much post/stem for some folks aesthetic preferences. Great bike!
