FS: Joe Appaloosa, 58cm, butternut

Reshuffling the garage and the stable a bit this winter and the trusty Appaloosa has to find a new, loving home. Posting here only because I’m certain it’ll get the love it deserves from someone in this group. Looking for $2000 plus shipping. 

Front ring is a deanodized Wolf Tooth, in 38T. Cranks are 173mm “Silver” (stock option from the complete build). Rear cassette is a Sunrace 11-42 and an XTR rear derailleur attached to a Wolf Tooth RoadLink. Shifting is flawless. Brakes are Paul Mini-Motos. Handlebar is a 46cm Noodle. Wheels have been set up tubeless in the past with these Cazaderos but are currently set up with tubes because I ran out of sealant and got lazy and had access to tubes. The wheels are stock. Headset is IRD with smooth needle bearings. 

The bell is a hand hammered copper one from Nao Tomii of Tomii Cycles. Cages are King ti; if you want them, add $30 to the total price. Pedals are MKS Grip King. They have been superbly comfortable. 

The rack is an older Salsa aluminum rack. Very light, very stable. I’ll include that with the basket attached if you want it, but not the bag that is pictured. If you are curious, there’s a small bag maker here in Austin called Realm Dark Label that makes Wald basket bags. This one is made of sailcloth and is very light. I love it.

That’s a nice set up! Tempting for sure. Would need to sell off some stuff...

Anyhow, weren’t the Appas intended for swept back bars?.. What’s the distance between back of saddle to bar clamp (and/or nose of saddle to center of stem fixing bolt)?..

Hi Max. 31 and 17 inches or 79 and 43cm. I suppose most rivs go swept back. I went with a mild sweep and 9cm stem, just a preference but I see more drop bar builds an the Appaloosa recently. Pretty versatile bike I’d say.

All good. I'll look at it later and send measurements over of my setup. I'm 6'2", and was recommended a 60cm Joe. I went with the 58 because I wanted to use it with drop bars and have been thrilled with it.

I’ve got 52cm from the tip of the Cambium saddle to center of handlebars. 68cm to the bend in the hoods on both sides. It’s great - as is, the saddle and bar are level.
