Hi - I've been drinking the Riv kool-aid since 1996. I bought this in 2000, the second owner. The first owner complained of the original paint flaking, so had Ed Litton (Richmond, CA) refinish in solid green metallic. There's a chip on the right seat stay visible in photo, no dents or rust (Framesavered). Own a bike shop now, need to thin the herd. This never fit me just right, and is too lean and sporty for my geriatric, cargo- and passenger-hauling priorities. This is the only bike I own without a kickstand, rack, fenders, dyno lights etc.
Silver-brazed Reynolds 753, frilly lugwork. Comfortable, spirited, quick, classy ride. Eclectic build including Campy, Mavic, blanked-out Shimano 105, Stronglight "drillium" triple crank (3x8), Nitto components, amazingly enough all working together just fine. Ask for details. Best yet, come test ride it in Portland, Oregon.
The bike's barely been ridden since 2003, so shows some signs of long (climate-controlled) storage. I could swap tires and tape, etc. to make it all cherry, but figure I should leave updates to the buyer's preference. Can quote certain mods separately, especially if you're local.

Can you provide some measurements? What's the biggest tire this will fit? Fender mounts?

Here's the geometry sheets for the 1st generation Rivendell frames, including the Road Standard. http://www.cyclofiend.com/rbw/gen1/#catalog5Tire clearance is supposed to be up to a 700 x 35, but there seems to be some variation on this. My '97 Road Standard 59 cm, for example, has very tight tire clearance. A 700 x 28 barely fits, anything larger will rub. I like it on 650 x 38 wheels, though that results in a very low BB.Todd, I'm curious about the tire clearance as well.Cheers,Tim
