I'm readying my blue Ram for a re-paint (going green this time) and emailed Roman about decals. He reports none left and they don't have the graphics files. Actually, that's Okay. I'd be happy with a more minimalist badging anyway. I've asked about an R deat tube decal, but if that is a dead end, does anyone have one of those "Old Man Peterson's Ferrous Velocipedes" decals? My 52cm size only came in blue so the green will be kind of neat, I think.

Thanks

Bruce

Well you could always go with the Resurrecto Decals which are really cool. I would leave off the downtube and just use the head and seat tube.

It may cost more, but decals can easily be copied.

Have a painter make a template and paint them on.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Right now, I'm leaning to just something on the seat tube. I've asked Roman at Riv about that, and will check with Norman Bone on his decal.

Bruce, I responded your request or info on the Old Man Petersen decal on that thread.  I have also fashioned a seat tube decal using self-stick vinyl sheet cut into a diamond shape, with one of round RBW logo patches in center.  Looks quite good IMO, and is removable at any time with no damage to the paint.

Bruce, I'll confirm what Steve said about cut vinyl for graphics. Works well. I used them on a Surly Cross Check single speed after I stripped all the existing graphics. If you have a sign shop nearby you could give them a digital file of whatever you can obtain or create and they could produce your graphics.

Since I'm in your neck of the woods (more or less) who is going to handle the paint?

All the best,
Richard

Hate to hear that about the Ram decals, but they aren't that hard to copy and there are a few places online that will do it. I like the traditional minimalist decal approach used on Rivs.

However, knowing that may prompt me to cover the decals on my orange Ram with 3M clear protective tape. That tape worked great for protecting decals on my celeste Bianchi during several seasons of CX racing. Clear protective tape does have a SPF, as when I removed it from the Bianchi the difference between the colors was obvious (it is celeste pearl, parallel to the orange pearl on the Ram). The celeste paint still looks good, but the protected paint is more vibrant and rich. I guess clearcoat doesn't have a SPF factor, but clear film definitely does!

Cheers,
