Seeking a Toyo Atlantis 56-58cm/26" frameset please. Looking to hand over my 55cm/93 XO-1 to my wife - it's a bit small for me anyway - so would love to build a 26" Riv for myself (I currently have several 26" wheelsets).

Hey Jerry,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Toyo Atlantis 26inchers were limited to 56cm frames and under. 58 and above were 700c.

No need for correction. 56 were 26 inch , the 58 were 700c. I've had both and preferred the 56 so I bought another one after I sold the 58. Just sayin

There were also a Waterford run of Atlantis. I recall seeing a 56cm MUSA Atlantis for sale on this list. The MIT (made in Taiwan) models have the long chainstays and fit differently.

The original 56cm 26" Atlantis is very cool, but hard to find. It might be worth considering newer iterations of the Atlantis too.

Appreciate the insight regarding Toyo Atlantis frame to wheel sizing. At 6'1" a 58 would actually be ideal for me - I was just wanting a 26" wheeled Riv for rides with the wife. Whelp - I'll keep searching for a 56/26" Toyo Atlantis.
In the mean time  - I do have a custom Ebisu/650B on order that I'm excited over. Just received my hand built Velocity 650B Quill wheelset and White Industries crankset/BB for it. I have other savory bits for it too.
Whelp - I do so love building bicycles, I love everything about it - and to a fault.

There is a guy on Facebook Riv Marketplace that says he has a Toyo built 57-58”, 26” Atlantis. Guy named William John Spencer in a WTB: Toyo Atlantis thread.

Appreciate the tip - I actually reached to him a week ago. Unfortunately for me, his is a 700C frameset.

Yup - saw this too - but at 6'1" a 56cm is as small as I can go. That said, I thank you just the same!

Another possibility is finding a Riv All-Rounder – many of them were spec'ed for 26" wheels, even in the larger frame sizes, and it should be just dandy for leisurely rides. Barring that, maybe you can find the Handsome XOXO – they take a larger tire than the OG XO-1.

Best of luck! I feel very fortunate to have found my 54.5cm, 26” Toyo last year and it has been a real joy to ride. Being on the shorter side (5’8”, 83 PBH), I’ve always appreciated the frames designed around a smaller wheelset, and you can’t beat 26” for that lively handling and bombproof wheel strength. I could easily ride a 56cm, and wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another if I were to ever find a good opportunity in that size as well.

Hi Brian---

Yes - you get it - you get 26" wheels. I've been racing since I was 12 years of age and when I moved up to 700C a bit of the magic, the fun was gone. When the XO-1 was released I jumped on it. Nimble, quick acceleration, and to you point "bombproof"
Congrats on having secured a Toyo Atlantis 26" - wishing you many fun and bombproof miles!

Jerry,

I have no relation to or knowledge of the seller, but here's a FB Marketplace link to a 56cm Toyo Atlantis

Good luck.
