I've read all the older posts I can find, but would appreciate an update:  what beautiful silver rack are you running on a Hubbuhubbuh with disc drag brake?  Ideally my rack would be Nitto and Riv-supplied (I know MG is running a Nitto R15)

My goal:  not touring, just to be able to carry two bags of groceries seven miles, once a week.

Thank you

Hmm, that's a tough one. Maybe you can call Riv and ask them to slide a Big Rack up to Grant's bike and see what they think. I don't know if he has a disc on that one, but they should be able to eyeball it. The Large model has the most square/tall open space so I think would have the best chance of clearing that brake.

Thanks, Joe

Yeah, I called them last night and they said Nittos weren’t really wide enough, consider Tubus. I think I am being immature and in denial, about a bike rack. Hmm.

Ok, I did my deep breathing and can settle on a Tubus if it is silver: has anyone tried one, please?

Ah, tandem spacing, I forgot about that. Can you do what you need to do with a BaggaBond hanging off the rear saddle? It's huge and I have an olive one I'm selling (or you can buy from Riv).

I had a tubus on it for awhile....everything is bendable, esp the racks with detachable struts. Easy to bend, “cold forge” using an anvil. I do not recommend carrying said anvil on rack. But...thus far, no adverse effects, and we’ve hauled lots of heavy stuff.

As my much more handy than I am brother used to say: If it doesn’t fit, get a bigger hammer!

I tore my hair out on this same problem for a couple of weeks.

Finally bought a Topeak Explorer and a small can of silver spray paint. It looks good enough and is mostly covered most of time anyway

For example (note also lack of long hairs):
