Greetings Riv friends!  This lovely Heron needs a new home.   I love the feel of the ride, but it's just too small for me. Can anyone tell me what version/year Heron this is?  The tube sticker reads Heritage Custom Select.

The 3 x 9 drivetrain is Ultegra except for a Deore XT rear derailleur.
Crank arms 170; rings 30, 42, 52
Ultegra headset
Ultegra BR6500 Brakes, Flight Deck levers (brifters)

Conti Top Touring tires (25mm?)

Specialized treadless stem with quill converter

Specialized bars, shallow bend

Ritchey hubs and skewers, bladed spokes, and unlabeled rims

I can provide more pictures/info if anyone is interested.  Thanks.

The round fork blades make it Rivendell Era vs Todd Kuzma era.
Adventure cycling did a review in 1999

I could be wrong maybe only the touring model switched to oval blades. That review says the Rivendell version was Reynolds 531. My 2004 Heron Touring says "Heritage Select".

Todd is still semi active on the ibob list so you could ask him.

A little more research show the Riv era had short horizontal rear dropouts, which makes yours a Kuzma version. Both were made in the US by Waterford. Early 2000's

if the frame has horizonatal dropouts its the Heron Road. the 1st gen Heron tourer also had horizontal dropouts but used canti brakes

if it has vertical dropouts and sidepull brakes its the Heron Rally

$700 plus whatever it costs to get it to the buyer. If that sounds way off base, let me know.

It's also probably a 52 or 54 cm frame, since as I recall, Heron sidepull braked "road" frames were even numbered sizes, canti-braked "touring," model was odd numbered...
