In the tradition of always having the wrong wheelsets around, I ask you all to forgive me for failing to notice that I would need a 650b wheelset when moving from a 59 clem to a 52.  Possible trade for one of my 700c wheelsets (rich built, deore xt/lx/velocity variety).

Didn't I just have several 650b wheelsets??  I did.  Yes.

Brendan in SF, who has 3 wheelsets for one frame, no wheelsets for another, and a wheelset that doesn't fit any of his frames.

Hi Brendan,
Am I correct in assuming that we’re talking 135mm OLN rear in all cases?
Are yours 32 hole or 36?
Do you want 32 or 36?
What are the spoke types used in your wheel set(s)?
Thanks,
David (jes thinking... if I should get a Platypus...) Lipsky

ISO: Correct, 100/135 for a Clem. 32 or 36 would be fine. Preferably wide rims.

Mine:
LX to Synergy are 32h
deore/DH-3n72 to DYAD are 36h
Rich build, so I'm guessing DT Swiss double-butted spokes (silver) 14/15/14g

Tough to beat that price for a useful wheel set. I just had a lighter set built at Universal Cycles with 32 hole A23 rims and 105 hubs for double that, and I thought that was still decent for nice wheels.

I have the takeoffs from my 2016 Joe Appaloosa from when I decided to go tubeless.   They are 135 spacing.  36 hole. From what Joe Bernard tells me, they are like these but available:   https://www.rivbike.com/collections/wheels/products/velocity-made-shimano-alex-wheelset-650b-x-32h-135   .  PM me and I can send you the pics I took (they are still on my phone).    $200+shipping.  And, of course, I'm on the east coast.

About 2700 non hard braking miles (I am not a rough rider no go down many hills).   Rims are in great shape.  Every other spoke nipple is a different color--blue, green, purple.

David, you SHOULD get a Platy.

Thanks everyone.  I have a local trade, and purchase as options.

That Velomine deal is a good one!

Brendan:

Assuming I’m the trade, would you like to meet in Benicia Saturday around 9 am?

Yes, you are the trade!

I think that that would be too early for us to get out there unfortunately. Our plans to be out that way or for the early afternoon. Would closer to noon or the evening possibly work?

Thanks,
