718 Cyclery is a Rivendell dealer based out of Brooklyn, NY. They really have quite a presence in their city and now....a podcast! I don't know if I'm speaking to any fellow podcast junkies out there, but if you love bikes and you love stories about bikes and bike culture, I bet you'll love 718's podcast. A big podcast junkie here!  

I think podcasts make up probably 90% of the media I 'consume' ever since said goodbye to cable.  There's no going back!  Overcast is the podcast app I use.

I quit cable in 2012 and rarely miss it. I watch no tv and a movie maybe once a month. Maybe not even. As a result, I’m on track to make my 2018 52 books in one year New Year’s Resolution. Podcasts and books are where it’s at!

Thanks for the link, Leah.  718 won a "Retailer Innovation" award at Interbike this year...looks like they're doing something(s) right.  Will have to stop in next time we're up that way.

Hi, Leah!

Thanks for the information.  I'm in the car a lot and downloaded and listed to episodes 1-4 all in the same day! 

For anyone who is interested in listening, I found the first part of episode 3--how Joe got into the business and how architecture relates to bikes (he is a registered architect)-- interesting.  I also loved episode 4 (and feared for the future of LBS everywhere), where he published the keynote from Interbike.

The most "fun-ist" thing for me after listening to these podcasts, though, is that I'll be in Brooklyn in about a month and I'm now planning on stopping by to visit, assuming NY traffic doesn't cause me to be late to my original appointment.
