Search Bar Not Working

Good Day,

I am having the hardest time debugging this error and i need help.

The site was working well till the server had a reboot and I am honestly clueless on where to begin.

Hi, I am having a similar problem.

Was there a solution to this? My server was not rebooted but it just randomly stopped working and a reboot did not fix the issue.

It looks like the request there is returning a 500. I would fetch that same request outside of the searchbox and see what other details you might be able to learn. You should also see an error in your server console with a clue to the issue you are having.

Hi, thanks for the response. 

Please see screenshot and hoping you or anyone can help.

If I try to search for a contact or group in the compose windows, I get one thing

If I try a search in contacts for a contact, I get another

Sadly these screenshots are not any more useful. It points you to investigate the nature of the 500 error on the server side. Something is misconfigured on that end and without seeing that we can't really offer any advice. My gut is it is related to your elastic server, but without seeing I can only speculate.

We have the same problem . Even if everything is working fine until a reboot or an upgrade. Here is the ticket we raised https://groups.google.com/g/rapidpro-dev/c/Ou67IV_wbZc/m/3-2hzCJCBgAJ 

From the screen shots and our problem, it seem that when you start typing a contact, this url doesn't pass through "https://yourrapidprourl.com/contact/omnibox/?v=2&types=gcu&search=a"

We thought it was related to the version of ElasticSearch but didn't have enough info on that. It seems that internally, the command to search contacts will no longer work. What we usually do is run the rp-indexer --build,  and ensure that the celery beat, elasticsearch  process are running smoothly, ...

Still a problem on our side...
