Hi,
I downloaded and installed on the SD version of Linaro following:
but running the command:
apt-get update and apt-get upgrade I never find updates.
When I log on to the system as I read the version 13.09
Something wrong?
Greetings
Elia

Hi,

Check your /etc/apt/sources.list file to make sure you are loading the right sources. Also don't forget to run an 'apt-get update' before running the upgrade command.

Hi,
this is my /etc/apt/sources.list

root@radxa:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/ raring main universe

deb-src http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/ raring main universe

root@radxa:~#

I had run the "sudo apt-get update", before performing "sudo apt-get upgrade" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"
Greetings

Well that looks good to me. Maybe there's just no updates right now? Have you tried installing a new package yet?

Yes, I installed new packages (wireless-tools, wpasupplicant, man, vim and others), but strangely I never find any updates.
Thanks, greetings.

It is linaro 13.09 based, but i think apt-get upgrade should update
the version number but not...

Any way, apt-get upgrade should keep the system the latest update.

I was able to upgrade linaro-server to 14.04 :) Which is nice since it will be long term support.

Can you give some hints how you did that, please?

etc/apt/sources.list - replace the content in this file with the content below marked between "++++" (backup the original content beforehand)
In etc/apt/sources.list.d/ there is a single file, move that from there (I moved it to my home folder in case I need to restore it)

run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade

The last command will prompt you some popups in the command line in which you need to select "Yes", "OK"...

This may take up to half an hour or more depending on your internet speed. If you run into errors try running the commands multiple times, but if the errors persist, I found that deleting the temporary packages will take care of the problem (I don't remember the folder they were in, let me know and I'll search again for them when I get home)

Thank you very much, that worked great!
However, my kernel stayed at 3.0.36. Any idea why it doesn't upgrade to linaro stable kernel 3.10.37?

It needs some(may be a lot) work to upgrade to linaro stable kernel.

Hmm ok,
it doesn't have to be the linaro stable kernel.
I would be happy with a kernel that supports i2c...
Any recommendations?

if you don't know what is it, you shouldn't flash it.
