In the past I know there were some radioberry boards that had issues.
I have put off starting a build until the dust settled Hi.
Other than the RBpi board which source for boards is reliable?
Also appreciate a list of HW needed for full project.

HW list depends on what is full project means. Complete transceiver stand alone or  Radioberry with computer control or just SWL radio for fun. 100 % you need Rasberry Pi, touchscreen display, Radioberry hat, BPS, LPF, power amplifier of your choice QRP or more power. For stand alone transceiver midi control console board is very helpful.

Goal would be full transceiver 20-50 watts.
I have RBPi 5, lpf board and 20w PA,
Mainly need reliable source for Radio Berry Hat and preamp board to get started. Also recommend Display

https://github.com/pa3gsb/Radioberry-2.x/tree/master/hardware  in the sub folders look for release folder. Here all info can be found.

Hope this helps,

Enjoy your development.

My current setup i like is the rb-juice - rb hat - pa including  LPF / sampler circuit max 600w (IMD beter tahn 60dbc) using a https://github.com/pa3gsb/RB2AMPController

There are many possible combinations possible and already many different setups running.

Amplifier possiblities:

Please share with us your setup; iam sure there are buillders who are willing to give advice about your planned of built setup.

What is best vendor to buy Hat, preamp and Juice from.
I know there are some vendors who may not have the best boards.

Tim

Iam not involved in the selling; i provide only the design, sharing mine experiments.

Quality of the different vendors is unknown (at least for me)

But the normal feedback figures can give you some feedback or there are buyers on the list who can help you ?

Since you are in USA Amazon Aursinc is your choice. I have Radioberry hat, amplifier, Juice board from this vendor. Everything working as supposed to work. In case something is wrong you can return it.
Check specification of yours 20 W amplifier. In my case my 20 W amplifier required input signal 0 dBm. Radioberry hat output is about 15 dBm and I need to put attenuator in between to prevent overloading.
For display choice, all depends on what construction of the front panel you plan to use. I use Elecrow 7" display. The display is glued to the front with adhesive flash. No bezel required. Some others display screens have mounting ears for screw from inside to the front panel. In this case you better to have 3D printed bezel for screen to looks neat.

Hi all!
This is my first post on this group, but I have read almost all posts and others from other sites about radioberry.
I'm working on building a transceiver based on radioberry with juice and preamp, both lasts from chinesse Aursinc manufacturer and radioberry also from unknown chinesse manufacturer. The juice connects to a headless NanoPi M5 sbc running Debian 11 and I have the system running for long time without issues. My plan is to use it remotely so I don't need any screen but in any case I can plug a monitor to the hdmi output or use the tft ports in the sbc. I have made a lot of tests accesing to my local network over remote Wireguard connection with awesome results, using piHPSdr in a laptop to control the remote radioberry.
Also I'm planning to build an amp controller with openhpsdr support but bassed on ESP32 with ethernet, not rbpi pico, wich have enough power to run a web server for control and info.
As soon as I ended the build of the radioberry into an small anonized aluminium case I'll post some pics.

Real nice setup.

Controlling your amplifier i did an inital setup. Carefull pcb design is having some flaws (take care) , all need an upgrade.

https://github.com/pa3gsb/RB2AMPController

This setup is using a pico.

About adding a webserver...i had in mind to add the webserver at the firmware site not at the side of the ampcontroller ... there are many solutions possible.

Enjoy your journey!  Please inform us about your findings; iam sure others are interested also in using the wireguard idea.
